NV Access Logo

NV Access Logo Description

Long description of the NV Access Logo

The NV Access Logo was created in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) format using TEXT elements and a filter effect, compliant to the W3C SVG 1.0 specification. The logo shown at the top of every page on the NV Access site is a raster image of the SVG logo, provided in PNG format.

The NV Access logo is shown on a white background, and is a rectangular shape, 3.6 times as wide as it is high. In the case of the logo shown at the top of every page on this site, it is exactly 360 pixels wide and 100 pixels high in the default presentation.

The NV Access logo contains the large square capital letters "N" and "V", drawn in the default sans-serif font at a point size of 80. The letters "NV" are drawn in a light grey colour with a semi-three-dimensional semi-metallic appearance calculated by an SVG filter effect. The metallic filter is derived from the example shown at: "WebReference.com - Scalable Vector Graphics: The Art is in the Code: 6/8): Filter Effects:". The "NV" is drawn in a default sans-serif font and has a thin black line around the edge of the characters to emphasise them slightly. the "NV" appears as if it could be naturally raised if it were on a tactile surface.

The NV Access logo also contains the word "Access" written at the same level to line up at the bottom of the "NV", "Access" is written in thick black rounded letters in the font "Arial Rounded MT Bold", at a size around 50 per cent of the size of the "NV". The word "Access" has a capital "A", with the rest of the word lowercase, but the lowercase letters are drawn at the same height and size as the uppercase "A". This means the uppercase "A" is a point size of 60, and the remainder of the word is in a point size of 80.

The word "Access" is written across the front of the "NV", but with the "A" starting at a position between the "N" and the "V", so that the right-hand angled line of the letter "A" hugs the left-hand angled line of the larger letter "V". The bottom left edge of the "A" sits against the bottom right edge of the larger "N", so that the "A" sits neatly into the space between the "N" and the "V". The remainder of the word "Access" runs towards the right extending past where the "NV" sits.

The "NV" takes up the majority of the vertical height of the image, whereas the "Access", being around 75 per cent of the height of the "NV", extends to take up the majority of the width of the logo to the right of the "NV". This means there is an empty rectanglular space at the top right of the logo overall.
